Welcome to Oak Class ⭐
Oak class is made up of 19 amazing children from Year 4 and Year 5. Our class teacher is Mrs Camper and we have Mrs Skinner on Fridays, along with Mrs Cozens Thursdays and Fridays. Here is Oak Class we strive to always try our best. We are a friendly and hardworking team who respect each other and endeavour to be the best versions of themselves. We work hard to look after our classroom environment and we love to share all of the wonderful learning we do.
Summer 2024 Terms 5 and 6
'Why do we need to adapt and change?'
During the Summer Terms we will be learning all about adapting and changing. Looking at how living things are adapted to their habitats, why we need to change , evolution and Inheritance.
In English, our writing will firstly be a story based on 'Kensukie's Kingdom' by Michael Morpurgo, a poem called 'Moth' and a non chronological report based on 'The Origin of Species'. Our reading comprehension is all about 'Dawin's Dragons' by Lindsay Galvin. We will also be enjoying 'Cogheart' by Peter Bunzl for our class read aloud, followed by 'Kenzukie's Kingdom'.
The Maths focus for the start of this term will be all things fractions and daily Maths Fluency. This will then be followed by divison, multiples and factors, area and perimeter and ending with geometry . Each week we will be working very hard to improve our recall of multiplication facts ready for the Year 4 Multiplication Times Tables Check in June.

Our PE lessons are on a Wednesday and Friday. Children are to come into school in their PE kit, which should consist of a white t-shirt, black bottoms and trainers. Please make sure that your child has a named water bottle in school each day.
